INSTALLATION OF A HEATING SYSTEM IN THE UPPER CHURCH

Formerly, Sunday Community masses were held in winter in the Lower Church, but with the ever-growing number of parishioners, it became necessary to hold those services in the larger-capacity Upper Church. The latter was unheated, however, making the services rather uncomfortable. So the Filipino Catholic Community started in 2005 a fund-raising campaign and was able to install in 2006 a much-welcome heating system. The installation costs were partly financed by the Archdiocese of Vienna, with a payback period extending until 2010. Thus, fund-raising continues not only to repay our debt (currently €5000 per annum until 2010), but also to cover the actual heating costs that are estimated at Euro 500 per month.

It is possible to support this project by regular bank transfer to the parish' account no. 8.313.124 with Raiffeissenbank, Blzl 32000 (please indicate "Heating system" as "Verwendungszweck"). Alternatively, please obtain bank transfer slips from Ms. Yoly Olf or Ms. Josie Lua for one-time transactions.

REPLACEMENT OF CARPETS IN THE UPPER CHURCH

With the increased use of the Upper Church, the red abaca carpets that were installed when the church was re-built 30 years ago suffered much wear-and-tear. These were replaced in late September 2007 at the cost of €7856.28, which was covered from the proceeds of various fund-raising activities.

PONDO NG PINOY

Our Community supports the Pondo ng Pinoy project of the Archdiocese of Manila. This consists of saving 1, 2 and 5 Euro cent pieces (so-called 'crumbs') daily in piggy-banks provided by the parish. When full, the piggy-banks are submitted to Fr. Joey, who arranges to remit the funds to Manila. There, the funds are used for numerous projects to alleviate the situation of our less-fortunate kababayans. As this is a continuing project, piggy-banks can be re-used or new ones requested from the parish office.

In 2007  €1500 of parishioners' contributions was remitted to Cardinal Rosales in Manila.

As of 6 January 2008, there is an additional €1189 available for remittance, but this is being held until a larger sum is collected before the money is sent to Manila.

Visit the Pondo ng Pinoy Website for more details.

The parish is grateful for all donations and contributions to its projects.
Maraming salamat po!  Vergelt's Gott!
