"Gabay sa Paglalakbay"
The 25th anniversary celebrations of the Filipino Catholic Community
21 - 28 September 2008

Message from Father Joey

Hello everyone, a warm and joyous greeting to all!

I would like to start by thanking everybody for the successful celebration of our 25th anniversary. Thank you for participating in our daily Eucharistic celebration and attending the programs afterward. Thank you for sharing your time, efforts and resources; it really made our celebration not only memorable but also meaningful. I thank God for all that happened.

I feel very much honored to be part of the community, having served almost half of the 25 (or is it 30) years of its existence. I did not expect many of the things that happened during the actual week-long celebrations, but they were made possible because of the many wonderful, committed and dedicated members of our community. There are so many of you (and you know who you are) who selflessly worked hard to make sure that the celebrations would turn out well. And they did, praise the Lord!

I have had a chance to thank some of you personally, but to those with whom I have not had the chance to meet or speak:  thank you very much, maraming salamat, vergelt's Gott!  I deeply and sincerely appreciate the generosity, concern and love that you show and give to the community. May the Lord make us more committed to grow deeper in our faith as we continue our journey.

Perhaps, this is also my opportunity to inform everyone about my coming sabbatical. I will be leaving the community temporarily for a few months to undertake a spiritual renewal and to recharge my batteries. I hope to return - full of vigor and enthusiasm - to a deeper and more meaningful service in the Lord’s vineyard. Let us continue to pray for each other.

May God bless you always! Mabuhay!
